Alexia Katsma, PTA

Alexia is originally from the Edgerton, MN area and currently resides in Orange City, IA with her husband and daughter. Alexia received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Northwestern College and her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City. She has worked in outpatient Physical Therapy for 5 years and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Findlay in Ohio.

Outside of work, Alexia is studying for her Doctorate program. She also loves spending time with her family and friends, playing games, and being outdoors. She enjoys being active and traveling when she can.

Why did you become a Physical Therapist Assistant?

“I tore both of my ACLs when I was young so I can empathize with those going through an injury. I really appreciated the encouragement and relationships I had with my physical therapy team through my physical therapy journeys and I could envision myself with a career in this field. The opportunity to empower people to get healthy and back to doing what they love is my favorite part of the job.”
